Maggie Takes a Bath

Yipes... Too Close?

Squatchy on Guard
Up until last night, Maggie had been sleeping in a bassinet next to our bed. This meant that every loud sigh, every little peep, would stir Annie from a sound sleep and leave her laying in bed with eyes wide open waiting to see if she would settle down (34% probability) or wake herself up and require soothing (66% probability).
Last night we decided to move the bassinet to the nursery next door. The baby monitor is in there, and it’s just on the other side of the wall from our room, so it’s not that far away.
Annie had some concerns that we might not wake up if she needed us, but it turned out that Maggie has another minder in the house. Any time she started to wake up and fuss, Squatchy would leap up from his bed and jam his snout into Annie’s face to wake her up.
Maggie, I hope you know one day how much responsibility Squatchy has put on himself to make sure you grow and develop in a safe and happy environment!
Tonight I came home to work to find our home full of laughter and delicious smelling food. Our friend Anna Rieke had dropped by with her beau Chris to bring us an incredible dinner of salad, corn on the cob, steak (!!!), potatoes and wine. Wow… what a feast! Maggie was fussing quite a bit about halfway through the meal so i excused myself to change her diaper (twice) and feed & soothe her. She started to get pretty boisterous, so I excused myself to the front porch for a while. Eventually, everyone came outside and Anna helped out for a while before Annie finally knocked her out with her soothing Annie ways. Chris, a photographer and DP, told me about Canon’s upcoming release of the EOS 7D, which addresses some of the pesky frame rate issues that have been a challenge with the 5D Mark2, and can shoot 18 MP photos at 8 frames per second. Wowza!
Can’t wait to try that tech out. When I can afford it. In 2039.
